This picture was taken while standing on the hands of several friends during a firedrill. The location of the photograph is in front of the Borough of Manhattan Community College and the street to the right is none other than the West Side Highway.
Stuyvesant High School is the second best public high school in the United States. Stuyvesant students however, like most teens, don't take firedrills seriously, laughing, playing around, some even smoking. I admit, I play around myself. Yet, one could take a five minute walk down West Street, pictured above, and arrive at ground zero-where the World Trade Center once stood. Stuyvesant, the building to the right connected by the white bridge was used as a morgue and triage during 9/11, closing the prestigious school for days.
This year seems to be quite depressing for Stuyvesant students, for the first time in years, rejections are higher than acceptances for early decisions schools. I myself was rejected to Vanderbilt University and many friends and classmates have similar experiences with other colleges and universities. I just hope regular decision goes well. Congratulations to Michael Zhang, one of my good friends and all others who have also made it into superb institutions of higher learning.
Nice one.

Haha thanks Ken. Your friends hoisted you up for this shot? Great hail mary though, although its usually taken blind with the photographer lifting his hand high up above the crowd. Great shot.
